The topic of sustainability is rightly on everyone’s lips and is also a matter close to our hearts. But how can Bulli’s or Bulli spare parts be sustainable at all?
The CO2– Emissions of an old T3 Bulli are probably not the best. We don’t want to sugarcoat it. However, it is much more sustainable to give a vehicle a second life than to buy a new one. The CO2– Emissions for the production of a new vehicle are immensely high. Exploring the world in an old van instead of by plane is ultimately many times more sustainable.
We pay attention to short transportation routes when manufacturing our products. All our products are produced in Germany – as far as possible regionally in the “Ruhr area”.
The shipping of our products is climate-neutral. For our packaging materials, we only use packaging that has already been used. Most cardboard boxes and envelopes are still in good condition after first use and can be recycled. Perhaps less visually appealing, but in our opinion sufficient for a disposable product. The parcel tape is also made of paper, so that the cardboard including the adhesive tape can be disposed of in the waste paper. Here we focus on functionality rather than aesthetics. After all, it is not the packaging that is important, but the contents of the parcel.
In the end, we all leave our footprint on the world. Some a little bigger than others. The important thing is to be aware of this and for everyone to contribute to making the world a little better within their own framework and possibilities.
For our part, we know that there is still a lot of room for improvement at WESTAGON when it comes to sustainability and we will continue to think about how we can make our store more sustainable.
